Olga Siskou holds a PhD in Healthcare Management and Administration from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) since 2006. In May 2021 she was elected Assistant Professor of Health Economics, Tourism and Migration at the Department of Tourism Studies of the University of Piraeus. During the academic year 2022-2023 she was nominated as responsible for the ERASMUS program at the Department of Tourism Studies and in the year 2023-2024 she is deputy responsible for the same program. Currently, she supervises three doctoral dissertations conducted in the Department of Tourism Studies.

Since 2002 she has been collaborating with the Center for Health Services Management and Evaluation at the Nursing Department of the NKUA as a researcher, focusing on health economics, migration and health tourism. From 2014 to 2021 she was an Academic Scholar of the Nursing Department of NKUA. She also worked as a visiting lecturer at the Department of Computer Science and Biomedical Informatics of the University of Central Greece (now University of Thessaly): 2008 -2012 and as a Tutor at the Open University of Cyprus: 2008 -2019.

She is a National Representative to the OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development) Health Committee from 2008 to 2016 and from 2019 until today. In May 2021 she was nominated as an (unpaid) expert of the Organization for Quality Assurance in Health (ODIPI) and since November 2021 she is an alternate member of the National Committee of Public Health Experts (chaired by Professor Sotiris Tsiodras).

She served as General Secretary in the Department of Public Administration and Local Government Management (TOMDA) of the Hellenic Association for Business Administration (EEDE): 2019-2020. She has also been General Secretary of the Hellenic Health Services Management Association: 2017-2019 as well as General Secretary (2010-2013 & 2017-2019) and President (2013-2016) in the Greek Nursing Studies Association.
