Dr. Ioannis Katsanakis is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Tourism Studies of the University of Piraeus, specializing in the Management of Information Systems in Businesses and Organizations with a focus on Business Process Management. He holds a degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Business Administration – Total Quality Management from the University of Piraeus. He received his PhD from the Department of Business Administration of the University of Piraeus in the field of Strategic Information Systems and the Use of New Technologies in Businesses, with a thesis on “Information systems development and evaluation in contemporary firms”. He has taught various undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the Departments of Tourism Studies and Business Administration of the University of Piraeus, as well as undergraduate courses at the Department of Biotechnology of the Agricultural University of Athens and the postgraduate programs in Business Administration and Tourism Management at the Hellenic Open University. Additionally, he has supervised postgraduate theses in the MBA program at the Hellenic Open University. His research interests focus on the application of new technologies in businesses, strategic use of new technologies by businesses, strategic management, information systems, evaluation of information systems, systemic analysis, e-business, knowledge management, and e-learning. He has also worked on research projects related to entrepreneurship, ICT, and e-learning at the University of Piraeus.
