The service offers free access to innovative Cloud Computing services (dynamic and on-demand provision of computing/network/storage resources) for all members of the research and education community. The service is available in the form of a public Infrastructure as a Service. Through the service, any academic user can create a multi-layered virtual infrastructure by combining simpler virtual building blocks: it activates in a few seconds hundreds of virtual machines, interconnecting them through virtual networks in random topologies, with the possibility of storing data either on virtual disks or on virtual storage in the Cloud.

• Virtual desktop/data processing service (virtual machines using cloud computing technology)
• Advanced videoconferencing service with telepresence technologies and the utilisation of high-speed networks
• Scientific research sharing services with Web 2.0 technologies
• Management service and easy access via Web to multimedia material with academic content
