Dimitris Apostolou is an Associate Professor at the Department of Informatics of the University of Piraeus and a member of the Decision Support Systems Laboratory. He holds a PhD from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens, and holds an MSc in Information Technology from University College London and an MS in Chemical Engineering & Environmental Science from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. His research interests focus on Intelligent Decision Support Systems, Team Support Systems and Business Process and Knowledge Management Systems. He has participated in a large number of IT research projects funded by the European Commission and National bodies, with a project manager role in three of them. He has served as an IT consultant and has participated in IT system design and development projects for the public sector and private bodies. He has more than 40 publications in journals such as Information Systems, IEEE Intelligent Systems, IEEE Computational Intelligence, International Journal of Information Management and over 90 publications in conference proceedings as well as a book published by Springer-Verlag. He participates in conference committees such as Business Information Management and is a reviewer in journals such as Decision Support Systems, Management Decision, Knowledge Management Research & Practice.
