Research Ethics Committee

 

According to article 21 of Law 4521/2018, a Research Ethics Committee is established and operates in every university with the purpose and aim of guaranteeing the reliability of research projects carried out in the universities at an ethical and sufficient level.

The Research Ethics Committee  has the competence to check whether a research project is carried out with respect to the value of human beings, the autonomy of the persons involved, their privacy and personal data, as well as the natural and cultural environment.

In addition, the obligation of the Research Ethics Committee is to control and comply with the generally accepted principles of research integrity and the criteria of good scientific practice.
