The action “Subsidized broadband connections to undergraduate first-year students of the country’s Universities, and other Institutions” concerns the provision of digital services to the beneficiaries of undergraduate first-year students of the country’s Universities and other Institutions who enrolled for the first time in an Educational Institution of Higher Education during the current academic year.

All first year students are eligible to obtain or maintain an internet connection by providing a broadband internet [fixed or mobile] subscription for twelve (12) months.

The Proposing Entity is the General Secretariat of Telecommunications and Postal Services and the Implementing Entity of the Action is the National Research and Technology Network. The Funding Entity of the Action is the National Telecommunications and Postal Services Commission.

The implementation of the Action will be carried out through the Voucher method. One voucher will correspond to each beneficiary. The maximum total value of the voucher is five euros (€5,00) per month. The total value of the voucher will cover a maximum of eighty percent (80%) of the monthly fixed or mobile broadband connection of the beneficiaries.
